Albuquerque woman sends inspiring message while living with cancer

Albuquerque woman sends inspiring message while living with cancer
THROUGH TODAY, TOMORROW. WELL, TODAY’S GOOD NEWS FILE IN INSPIRING MESSAGE FROM AN ALBUQUERQUE WOMAN WHO KNOWS NEXT YEAR REALLY IS NOT PROMISED TO HER. SHE’S BATTLING CANCER AND SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO SIT BACK AND TAKE ON THIS FIGHT QUIETLY. BUT LANCE SENA IS DOING QUITE THE OPPOSITE. WELL, HE ASKED ME, WELL, WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE DO YOU WANT? YOU WANT THE FULL EXPERIENCE OR YOU WANT KIND OF AN EASY GOING. LANCE SENA IS BATTLING STAGE FOUR HODGKIN’S LYMPHOMA. WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE PICKED. WHEN SHE WENT SKYDIVING? I THOUGHT I WAS CALLED FAIL. SO WE DID SOME TRICKS. WE SPUN IN THE AIR FOR A BIT AND WE DID A 62ND FREEFALL. SAINA MAY BE A FAMILIAR FACE AND NAME TO YOU. SHE’S THE POLICY DIRECTOR FOR THE CENTER FOR CIVIC POLICY, AND THEY JUST WRAPPED UP SOME BIG THINGS AT THE ROUNDHOUSE. WE DID A LOT OF WORK AROUND THE VOTING RIGHTS ACT, PAID FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE. SHE’S ALSO SERVED ON THE ALBUQUERQUE CITY COUNCIL. SANE HAS DEDICATED MOST OF HER ADULT LIFE TO CIVIC POLICY, ALL WHILE FIGHTING FOR HER OWN LIFE. LAST FALL, SHE FOUND OUT HER CANCER IS BACK FOR THE FOURTH TIME. SINCE MY DIAGNOSIS, ACS, I NEVER QUESTIONED WHY ME? I’VE BEEN ALWAYS OPTIMISTIC. I ALWAYS SAY I’M A REALISTIC OPTIMIST. SHE SAYS WITHIN THE YEARS OF CANCER TREATMENTS, MISDIAGNOSE CASES AND INSURANCE NIGHTMARES, SHE’S FOUND A NEW COURAGE AND THAT PUSHES HER TO TAKE RISKS. AND TO FIGHT FOR NEW MEXICO. IT WAS REALLY A MOTIVATOR, IF YOU WILL, TO PUSH FOR POLICIES. BECAUSE I KNEW I WASN’T GUARANTEED THAT SORT. SHE SAYS, YOU TOO, CAN TURN FEAR INTO SOMETHING ELSE. YOU CAN FACE IT WITH YOUR COMMUNITY, WITH YOUR FAMILY, AND YOU CAN TAKE THAT FIRST LEAP. INSPIRING ADVICE FROM A WOMAN WHO JUST PLUNGED FROM 14,000 FEET. FIGHTS FOR THE DISENFRANCHIZED AND IS FACED WITH A REALITY THAT EACH MOMENT YOU THINK YOU MIGHT DO IT AGAIN ONE DAY. OH, HELL YEAH. IS SO PRECIOUS. SO LYNN SAYS SHE’S FEELING GOOD THESE DAYS. OF COURSE SHE’S GOING THROUGH HER TREATMENT THERE, WAITING FOR THAT TUMOR TO GET BIGGER, SHE SAID, SO THEY CAN BIOPSY IT AND MAYBE SHE’LL QUALIFY FOR A NEW TRIAL TREATMENT. BUT I DID ASK HER. I’M LIKE, YOU DO SO MUCH. HOW DO YOU DO ALL THIS GOING THROUGH CANCER TREATMENT. AND LIKE SHE SAID, SHE SAID, I NEVER ONCE STOPPED AND SAID, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME? SHE SAID THAT SHE HAS FRIENDS GOING THROUGH SIMILAR BATTLES OVER THE YEARS. THEY WEREN’T LUCKY TO HAVE THEIR CANCER GO INTO REMISSION. SO SHE’S JUST KEEPING THIS OPTIMISTIC VIEW. AND IT I
