Wildfire begins in Upper Bear Canyon near Albuquerque
A fire has started in the Upper Bear Canyon near the city limits of Albuquerque. The fire is within the Sandia Wilderness.The size of the fire is currently a half acre and the possible cause is a lightning strike, according to New Mexico Fire Information.The fire began at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cibola National Forest Service resources are responding. They hope to fully suppress the flames.Smoke may be visible in areas of western Albuquerque and the Sandias.
