Albuquerque police have identified a man who they say shot at police on Sunday morning and is a suspect in the murder of his ex-girlfriend Sunday morning in the North Valley.
Julius Falero, 20, is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing about 125 pounds, with a dark complexion and brown hair.
Falero was found Tuesday with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Albuquerque Police Department. They determined he died by suicide.
Police say officers were fired upon when they were arriving on the 200 block of San Clemente Avenue NW. The suspect who fired shots at officers then ran from the area.
Police say they then went to a residence where the man was seen and found a woman who had been shot and killed.
Falero is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen in the area of 2nd Street and Griegos Road in northwest Albuquerque. He is also wanted in connection to a shooting of another individual in 2022.
