New Mexico United is making a coaching change.
Zach Prince stepped down as head coach and technical director moments after the United's 1-0 loss to El Paso on Saturday. He leaves the organization 11 games into his second season to pursue an unannounced opportunity.
Prince led New Mexico to a playoff berth in 2022. Under his guidance, United earned the most points, goals scored and highest goal differential in team history.
Owner Peter Trevisani praised Prince in a statement, saying "Zach is a living example of the mantra 'Hard work and action pay off.' He led our team to the postseason and has created a foundation upon which we will build."
Trevisani said the team expects to make an announcement by Monday, regarding the direction of the team moving forward.
