New Mexico United to change field layout at Isotopes Park

New Mexico United has announced the layout of the soccer field during games at Isotopes Park. In a letter to fans, owner Peter Trevisani announced the playing field would be adjusted by approximately 7 degrees and will be implemented as soon as the next home game. The change comes at the request of Major League Baseball and the Albuquerque Isotopes. According to the letter, the adjustment will allow the pitching mound at Isotopes Park to remain. Before, the pitching mound was removed and rebuilt to accommodate games for New Mexico United. The letter also states that the change will increase player safety and will provide a better experience for fans.
