THE THEFT TO THE RECOVERY. ACCORDING TO THIS CRIMINAL COMPLAINT, KENNY PICKETT’S SUV WAS PARKED IN THE LOT HERE AT BOWSER CHEVROLET IN MONROEVILLE, AND HE WAS HERE TOO, ON WEDNESDAY FOR AN EVENT WHEN POLICE SAY SOMEONE GOT INTO THE DRIVER’S SEAT AND TOOK OFF NOT ONLY WITH THE SUV, BUT WITH PICKETT’S BELONGINGS INSIDE THE CAPITALS, WITH PICKETT’S CAR AND HE TOLD US THAT THE STEELER PLAYBOOK WAS ON THE BACK SEAT. AND I WENT, OH, BOY. AND THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS CONFIRMED TO PITTSBURGH’S ACTION NEWS FOUR THAT THE QB’S PLAYBOOK WAS IN HIS GENESIS WHEN IT WAS STOLEN. BUT THEY SAY KENNY PICKETT’S PLAYBOOK HAS BEEN RETURNED WITH PICKETT’S SUV. ACCORDING TO POLICE, THE STEELERS GENESIS WAS FOUND HERE NEAR THE HERITAGE TRAIL IN MURRYSVILLE. THEY SAY THIS MAN, 60 YEAR OLD CHRISTOPHER CARTER, STOLE IT AND DROVE IT HERE FEET FROM WHERE HE LIVES. I WENT TO CARTER’S DOOR TO ASK ABOUT THE ALLEGATIONS, BUT NO ONE ANSWERED. HIS NEIGHBOR, GARY LEGLER, TELLS ME HE WATCHED POLICE TAKE CARTER INTO CUSTODY. I’M VERY UPSET ABOUT IT BECAUSE HE’S HE’S JUST A NICE GUY. I CAN’T SEE HIM DOING ANYTHING. BUT ACCORDING TO COURT PAPERS, CARTER CAN BE SEEN ON CAMERA DROPPING HIS VEHICLE OFF AT BOWSER ON WEDNESDAY WHILE PICKETT WAS THERE FOR AN EVENT. THEN THEY SAY CARTER GOT INTO PICKETT’S SUV AND DROVE HOME. LEGLER TELLS ME HE WAS THERE WHEN THE CAR AND THE PLAYBOOK WERE RECOVERED. I SAID, OH, I GOT THE PLAYBOOKS BACK AND WE’RE SUPPOSED TO BE CHRISTOPHER CARTER HAS BEEN CHARGED WITH THEFT, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY AND UNLAWFUL USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE. Police recover SUV stolen from Kenny Pickett, Steelers confirm playbook was inside but has been returned

An arrest has been made in the reported theft of an SUV belonging to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett. A Steelers playbook in the vehicle has also been recovered. Sister station WTAE obtained the court paperwork for a man who was arrested in Wednesday's theft. Pickett had been participating in an event at a Pittsburgh-area car dealership when the SUV, a 2023 Genesis, was stolen. Police were able to identify 60-year-old Christopher Carter as the suspect by running the plates on the suspect's personal vehicle, which he had left at the dealership after stealing Pickett's vehicle.Carter then allegedly got into Pickett's vehicle and drove it home. Gary Legler, a neighbor of the suspect, said Pickett's vehicle was sitting near the suspect's house, and a dealership sent somebody down to pick up the SUV.Legler says the representative then told police, "'Oh, the car was just sitting there, and he (the suspect) took it. And the owner has a book in the back, just personal information.' And come to find out, it's Kenny Pickett’s car. It’s the Steelers playbook on the backseat."The Steelers confirmed that a playbook was left in the stolen SUV. That playbook has since been recovered.Carter is charged with theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, according to the criminal complaint.
