Lobos head football coach talks about game against UTEP
well tonight we hear from Lobos, Hechos, Danny Gonzalez on the game that got away even though the Lobos were down five wide receivers and tight end for covid reasons on saturday. They controlled this game at utep for the first half. They got a terry Wilson touchdown In the first quarter left 13 3 at the break But that's when things broke down. The miners chipped away after halftime and the Lobos didn't score again lost 2013. And at the weekly press conference today, Gonzalez and Wilson spoke on this painful missed opportunity. There were some really really hurt guys in that locker room. I mean all of them which is finally the way it should be when you lose a football game. For all the work you put in to have an opportunity to play. I told those guys in the locker room and you know it starts at practice. We have to make sure we have the right attitude at practice. Um So it translates into the game. So I know the guys are ready to bounce back off of that. I mean it hurts and you know you want to get that bad taste out of your mouth. Lobo's now too and to try to get back over 500 saturday at University Stadium against Air Force in a 4 30 kickoff. Meanwhile Lobo's basketball season fast approaching and the women will take the floor is defending Mountain West regular season champs KK 87 Sports at practice this week as they continue to work on successfully defending that title and earning even more this coming season after not being invited to the N. C. Double A. Tournament last spring. Still, they know the competition is painting a bull's eye squarely on them. We one regular season last year. So I think that's another target added to our back. But um I just feel like we've always had a target on our back. You know, we have great coaches, We've always had a great program and we always like to compete. So that's the target on our back jade. And Elessar to returns for super senior season along with Antonio Anderson, which keeps some key leadership intact. The Lobos will open with a pair of exhibition starting october 31st. That is a wrap for sports. If I don't look at weather with joe. Yes, mm.
